Parkinson Lee Executive Search are the retained partner to High Speed Training in the appointment of a Chief Commercial Officer.

High Speed Training (HST) are the UK’s leading online training provider. They are a highly entrepreneurial, fast growing, technology business which prides itself on its values, people culture and customer service.

HST is a highly engaged and motivated team of over 50 people who are striving to fulfil their mission: Deliver training that helps people to be engaged, effective and safe in the career they’ve chosen. To do this, they have created online training courses across multiple sectors that help across a wide range of subjects and sectors. They work with an extensive list of clients from owner managed SME’s, through to some of the UK’s most widely recognised PLC’s.

Having trained over a million people, HST are always looking to create new ways of engaging with their learners, and they are very much looking forward to training the next million.

The business has a clear vision and goals, and as part of their continued growth strategy an opportunity now exists for a Chief Commercial Officer to join the organisation.

HST are a dynamic business that has embraced home working. So, although the head office is based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, we are inviting applications from across the UK.

This is a newly created role. The Chief Commercial Officer will take full responsibility for developing and implementing commercial strategies aligned to the company goals and strategic growth plan.

As a valued member of the Senior Leadership team you’ll play a pivotal role in developing and contributing to their wider business plans.

Reporting into, and working closely with the CEO, you will be responsible for shaping the organisation’s commercial function, key responsibilities will include:

● Driving revenue and market penetration, with responsibility for driving recurring revenue growth

● Developing and implementing commercial strategies aligned to company goals and strategic growth plan

● Demonstrating excellent leadership, leading diverse teams with a collaborative approach to deliver quality outcomes for their customers, and being a role model to others

● Leading and developing diverse teams of (Sales, Marketing, Commercial Sector Heads)

● Developing a sector-based approach to business development, and building agile cross functional teams with specialist experience to create new and diverse course content that services their market requirements

● Setting of financial targets in partnership with the Head of Finance and monitoring and reporting on performance against targets

● Being the voice of the customer – ensuring all teams understand customer needs and requirements and deliver excellence

● Collaborating with other Leaders and functions to ensure everyone is working effectively together to deliver for their customers

● Working closely with Marketing continuously working to attract new business

● Keeping up to date with industry trends and competitors

The successful candidate will be a proven commercial leader with a demonstrable track record of defining & successfully implementing commercial strategies in order to develop and significantly grow an organisation.

In addition, we are looking for individuals with:

● Demonstrable experience of delivering consistent trajectory of recurring revenue growth in previous roles

● Proven and effective leadership and coaching skills – creating, leading, and developing diverse teams within a digital or tech business environment

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills

● A passion for customer excellence, innovation and pushing the boundaries with product and services to deliver the very best customer outcomes

● Great interpersonal and communication skills

You will be a self-starter with an energetic approach that engages and motivates others. A problem solver with analytical, and numerical ability and a keen eye for detail.
