Parkinson Lee Executive Search are currently working with D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership, in the appointment of a Chief Executive Officer to join their team based within the East Midlands.

As the CEO the main purpose of your role will be to provide high quality leadership and support to the D2N2 LEP and its associated public and private sector partner organisations in driving the strategic direction for the economic growth of the D2N2 area and to ensure the delivery of its strategic priorities.

The CEO will report into the Chair of the Board of Directors and will lead, mentor and develop the Senior Leadership Team.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

Strategy and Leadership:

•Providing energetic and visionary leadership which inspires staff, partners and stakeholders

•Leading the implementation of the LEP’s local industrial strategy and Economic Growth and Recovery Plan which underpins regional and national strategies and is agreed with public and private sector LEP partners

•Responsible for overseeing an annual LEP budget and to monitor performance against budget

•Working with the LEP Executive Team to stay alert to new business opportunities and sources of income through a product and service development programme, bringing relevant and innovative projects to the Board for consideration

•Working closely with the LEP Chair and the Board of D2N2 to oversee the implementation of Board decisions

•Proving management information to the Board on all D2N2 LEP activities to make properly informed strategic decisions

•Speaking on behalf of the D2N2 LEP to represent their interests via press releases, meetings and other forms of lobbying

•Ensuring that D2N2 maximizes investment opportunities from Government funds

Operational Management:

•Leading an effective and high-quality executive support and secretariat function, including line-managing the LEP Senior Management Team

•Actively shaping and delivering a leading and trusted service offering to the private, public and third sectors

•Providing support to the D2N2 Board and Investment Board and overseeing the operation of its advisory boards and sub-board structures

•Ensuring that all LEP objectives are achieved and supporting the Chair in everyday duties

•Agreeing and setting milestones and key performance indicators for the LEP team in order to measure effectiveness

Relationship Management:

•Using exceptional interpersonal skills, communicating with a diverse stakeholder group including, the Board, business leaders, local and national politicians, senior public-sector officers and civil servants, education and training leaders

•Developing and maintaining relationships with other LEPS and the LEP Network including neighbouring LEPs

Parkinson Lee Executive Search are looking for applications with the following experience:

•Demonstrable local, regional and national political awareness

•Strong strategic, influencing and negotiating ability

•Experience in both public and private sector organisations

•Proven experience of developing and driving strategic change with the ability to lead, manage and motivate through change

•Experience of partnership working across complex geographies

•Previous experience at board level working with NEDs

•Proven ability to lead a multi-faceted organisation

•Proven public speaking skills and the ability to inspire and build confidence

•Excellent leadership and communication skills

•Knowledge and understanding of central and local Government funding mechanisms

Our client is looking to offer c£100,000 basic + benefits.
