Job Description

Parkinson Lee are delighted to be retained partners with a market leading Conveyancing business, based in the Yorkshire, to recruit a Director of Conveyancing & Legal Property Services to join their expanding business.

The main purpose of this role is to provide legal leadership and supervision, supporting lawyers to ensure all work is carried out in line with the business and clients’ regulatory requirements.

As the Director of Conveyancing & Legal Property Services your key responsibilities will include:

·An understanding of all aspects of the business, providing quality practical/ legal advice and support to the lawyers and the wider business on complex matters, liaising with internal and external parties (including client lenders, borrower’s and external lawyers).

·To manage and inspire the lawyers with ongoing coaching, training and development, ensuring the workload is equitably distributed within the team to enable them to maximise their potential, managing the team effectively delivering difficult messages when required with clarity and sensitivity being persuasive where required.

·Providing continued direction and support to the lawyers to ensure first-class service and that the legal and process support being provided in respect of any matters referred is being carried out accurately, efficiently and in line with business/client and regulatory requirements.

·To assist their institutional lender clients when requested in developing new processes or products, communicating with them in a clear honest practical and enthusiastic way to enable them to build trust in your and the companies’ ability as a business to add value to any proposition.

·To promote the business ethics and values promoting the companies’ brand and focusing on what matters to their clients.

·Identify process and policy improvements, ensuring guidance is maintained and the lawyers are updated with any changes where appropriate.

·Keeping abreast of current property issues/ forthcoming legislation that may impact on existing internal processes and ensure these are adapted accordingly.

We are inviting candidates with the below skills set to apply:

·Qualified Licence Conveyancer / CILEX or qualified Solicitor with extensive knowledge in property law

·Confident in technology focused conveyancing and keen to explore other digital tools to keep the company at the forefront of the industry

·An ability to act as the key contact for the regulatory body and take ownership of the regulatory aspects for the business with time

·An excellent communicator with strong influencing skills who has experience of building strong client and stakeholder relationships

·Exposure to people management experience (preferred) to lead a small team of lawyers

·A practical approach with the ability to identify new policies and procedures to drive the business forwards

·A sound commercial awareness with the ability to make quick crucial decisions for the business, taking ownership for decisions made to protect the business.

·Strong team player with a non-hierarchical approach
