Job Description

Parkinson Lee Executive Search are retained partners to Eminox in the appointment of a Managing Director based in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire.

Part of The Hexadex Group, a £200m turnover privately owned, global group of engineering companies, Eminox designs and manufactures high-performance stainless-steel exhaust and emission control systems for marine, power generation, construction,  rail, agriculture and on-road vehicles and equipment.

With their head office based in Lincolnshire, the company was established in 1978 and has grown successfully over the years to approximately 300 staff and a turnover of £90 million, with the main manufacturing site in Gainsborough, a smaller subsidiary in Slovakia and a joint venture in Chennai, India.

An opportunity now exists for a Managing Director to lead the business within the UK and Internationally.

As a strategic & visionary Managing Director you will lead the future development of the business and make crucial investment decisions to support growth, through new product development and new market penetration.

With a strong customer focus, the Managing Director will take a hands-on approach with key customers, building solid relationships and influencing key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

-Setting the strategic vision of the business to achieve sustained, long term profitable growth

-Ensuring that the business goals are clearly understood by the entire business and that progress is measured and communicated regularly

-Providing vision and leadership to the team of 6 Directors

-Developing and owning the relationship with the parent group maximising the advantage of their scale, scope, and ambition to grow

-Representing the company at senior levels within the customer base to ensure that relationships are enhanced, and they remain at the forefront of the market

-Leading and directing the business gaining competitive advantage through strategic planning, increasing growth and profitability

-Developing and maintaining excellent health and safety standards throughout the business, consistent product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and implement operational best practice

-Maintaining and developing organisational culture, values, and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies

-Having a focus on employee engagement, by regularly communicating business updates and by encouraging employee voice and participation opportunities

Parkinson Lee Executive Search are looking for candidates that can demonstrate:

-Proven experience as a Managing Director within a similar size SME (£50-200m)

-Experience within the automotive industry, ideally with an understanding of OEM, Retrofit and Manufacturing processes

-Exposure to a fast-paced, medium volume, agile manufacturing environment

-Experience of scaling a business

-A commercial focus, with experience of either customer facing or technical roles previously in your career. Must have the ability and flair to support the Sales and Engineering Teams in developing customer relations when required

-High energy and drive with the gravitas to lead an expanding business

-Strong leadership skills, able to influence and empower teams

-Flexible with travel and initially being on site 4-5 days a week in Gainsborough
