Job Description
Parkinson Lee Executive Search are retained partners to a highly successful, and rapidly growing Owner Managed SME business within the Construction industry in the recruitment of a Managing Director to be based at their head office in South Yorkshire.
Reporting into and working closely with the Owner/Group Chair you will lead the day-to-day management and performance of the company, with responsibility for delivering the medium-term strategic plans, as well as developing and delivering annual business plan targets, budgets and relevant outputs.
You will lead and develop a loyal team in this hands-on role, with a strong commercial and customer focus to drive sustainable revenue & profit growth, and manage substantial contracts through to closure.
Key duties include:
1. Define and manage overall annual targets and budgets, ensuring pro-active management of cashflow and that project/company costs are closely monitored against budget.
2. Leadership and day to day management of the Senior Team.
3. Oversee the activities, performance and development of staff, ensuring succession planning and performance monitoring systems are in place.
4. Implement relevant systems and processes to manage commercial and contractual risk adequately, reduce bureaucracy and ensure that the business is managed effectively.
5.Research and analyse industry, market, and competitors to make informed strategy decisions on developments, market opportunities, customers and suppliers.
6.Liaise closely with a related company, looking for ways to maximise collaborative opportunities to the benefit of both businesses.
7.Establish a close working relationship with the Group Chair, and through this relationship as well as regular briefings and/or papers, keep the Chair and Non-Executive informed and up to date on key developments, opportunities, risks and issues within the business.
8.Ensure that company policies and systems with regard to health, safety and environmental management and quality assurance are in place and fit for purpose.

•Experience of developing and implementing 3/5 year strategic plans
•Strong commercial background with a hands-on approach to developing and maintaining business with customers

•Strong IT and Processes background, to support the continued modernisation of the business
