Job Description

Parkinson Lee Executive Search are retained partners to a highly successful, Advanced Engineering business in the appointment of a Projects Director to be based on site in East Midlands.

Reporting into the MD, the Projects Director, will be the subject matter expert for the business and will take full responsibility for the Project Management Group, ensuring successful execution of project (contract) works to be delivered on time, under budget, and in line with specification compliance (Quality, Technical and Commercial).

Key responsibilities:

•Work closely with the other Board to deliver the agreed Business plan

•Oversee the management of the Project Management & Procurement resources

•Develop the project management capability, through direct mentoring, coaching and governance

•Focus on planning, financial reporting and stakeholder management

•Demonstrate understanding of customer contracts / frameworks

•Understand NEC3 and JCT contracting methodologies

•Work to exceed Business gross margin targets, via strong project delivery and optimisation planning. Reporting progress to the Board of Directors

•Collaborate with areas outside of your direct control to ensure successful project execution

•Work with Sales to ensure appropriate commercial terms are accepted by the business, and that they are understood and governed during operational execution

•Ensure risk and reward is balanced on all terms and contracts

•A proven track record of leading Projects Teams within a Manufacturing / Engineering setting

•A seasoned leader with experience of motivating high performing teams

•A commercial approach to ensuring projects are delivered on time and in budget

•Strong health, safety, environmental and operational management

•Knowledge of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Projects Director to join a growing business, in a role that will expand to a full operational remit within the first 12 months (if successful in the primary role) and be a true business partner to the Managing Director
